RAM's New Recruits

Hannah Chapman: RAM Tubulars' Racing Driver and Sales/Marketing Assistant

RAM Tubulars first discovered this ambitious young driver by chance when Fiona (RAM’s Commercial Director) went to her local MINI dealer to purchase a special edition John Cooper Works MINI Paceman that she had seen on display in Union Square Shopping Centre and just simply had to find out more. Hannah at the time was working as a Sales Executive there and took the lead in showing Fiona all the features of this rare model and within a week she was handing over the keys to RAM Tubulars’ proud new owner.

Prior to the vehicle handover, Fiona had found out after noticing the sponsorship brochure on her desk that Hannah was actually a racing driver in the Celtic Speed Scottish MINI Cooper Cup who at the time was struggling to obtain the funds needed to compete in the season ahead. This is where RAM Tubulars stepped in to save the day and became Hannah’s MAIN SPONSOR for her MINI racing career. This was back in 2014 and after 2 years of watching Hannah progress and being impressed by her outstanding achievements, RAM Tubulars saw some great potential and made the decision to give Hannah the opportunity to join the team to which she was delighted to accept!

Mark Mellor: RAM Tubulars' New Senior Sales Manager

Mark is a highly experienced sales person with over 20 years working in the Oil and Gas Industry in Sales and Business Development with extensive experience in tubulars, asset recovery and trading not only in the UK but in Africa, Europe and Middle Eastern regions as well as also being a previous client of RAM Tubulars for a number of years. Aside from working in Oil, Gas and Scrap Metal Industries, Mark also had his own motorcycle shop for a couple of years and became an instructor for 5 years. Our new Senior Sales Manager is originally from Great Yarmouth (England’s equivalent to Aberdeen in terms of Oil and Gas) but is now a family man residing in the Huntly area not too far north from our RAM Tubulars Head Office in Kinellar. Interestingly, Mr Mellor also has a family history in scrap metal with Norwich based Mellor Metals originally being run by Mark’s grandfather in the 1980’s.

Away from his professionalism in the working world, Mark is a bit of an adrenaline junkie. Similarly to Hannah, Mark is big into his outdoor sports. He enjoys mountain biking, hill walking, kayaking and off-roading. Previously Mark also used to participate in triathlons, not just for fun too as he is also heavily involved with a charity (The Safe Haven Trust) which was set up to support the victims of the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami in Java.

We wish both of our new employees the best of luck here at RAM Tubulars Scotland Ltd!
